First prototype of Stroker:

Stroker 1

- Download and unzip the file
- Open happy_new_year_2022.ai
- In the Actions palette: Import stroker_1.aia
- Select all objects (all of them are filled and closed paths)
- Run the action stroker_1

- Be a bit patient

Has to be improved, of course. Prototype 2 is underway.

Thanks, Peter.

Prototype 2 is supposed to be more colourful. It should preserve different colours when converting the filled paths to open stroked paths.

Also, it should support compound paths.

It's almost done, but there are some minor issues which have to be solved. It's a bit tricky to get it right.

If YOU think it's a bit tricky, I'll just take your word for it.

I now have a version that basically works while preserving different colours, but it is way too complicated and a bit error-prone.

It's pretty obvious that the action could be simplified by incorporating a little helper script that would swap stroke and fill attributes in conjunction with multiple coloured objects that have additional appearance attributes.

I do know a couple of scripts that can swap stroke and fill attributes with multiple coloured objects, but none of them actually works with the objects I created.

So my question is: If I provide a sample file with some instructions, would one of the scripting experts be willing to take a look at it and tell me if it can be scripted (just the swap stroke/fill part)?

Thanks.
