I wasn't sure how to phrase the title question, so here goes. Following a Lynda tutorial using the rectangular grid tool to add windows to a practice factory design. After dragging the grid tool from the top left anchor to the bottom right, I am supposed to have what the instructor has (left), which he can then hit up/down arrows to increase the number of row/columns. Instead I am getting anchors and paths (I assume both are anchors and paths, but his are "different"), and am unable to increase/decrease rows/columns.

I did notice that above the toolbar his Object Type is "No Selection" while mine says "Group." Just very confused. Thanks in advance.

Don't let go of the mouse button when dragging. While you still have it depressed, you can use the arrows.
