Object with Clipping Mask - won't go on Perspective Plane

I'm a AI beginner, I have a heart with a shirt in it (the heart is also a clipping mask for the shirt), I'm trying to place it on my perspective plane. I can put text on my perspective plane fine, I can put the shirt and heart on the plane individually, but I can't put the whole layer (shirt in heart, plus the heart behind it) on the plane.

What am I doing wrong? Should I just try to do them individually and then manually line them up together?

  • Finally use Expand Command to convert to vector shape

this way it looks the same and wo

It seems that a mesh objects cannot be attached to the Perspective Grid. Your vest is constructed from  several meshes.
