I am Applying as we applied for previous versions Opacity mask is not working in Adobe Illustrator 28.1v Update,  I do the same process, The image Layer behind the black-and-white shape and gives it Opacity Mask in the Tranceperancy tab but it hides everything as it should be that Black area will hide, and the white will display something like that.

Kindly solve this ASAP as this is a very IMP tool

Thanks

Can you show a screenshot of what you are seeing?

I've moved your post to the Adobe Illustrator forum for you.

This is an extant bug in the 28.1 release. It is currently under investigation.

it only applies to embedded images; linked images are not affected.

There is a possible temporary workaround: select the embedded image alone and group it, then apply the opacity mask.

Does this describe your issue? I.e. the mask works correctly when 'Clip' is unchecked, but objects are hidden when 'Clip' is checked?
