Optical Illusion Circle Pattern

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to create this exact circle pattern? I have been trying to create it using object blend but it doesn't quite do it?

First do this:

Then use live paint on it

Then expand. Use Pathfinder panel > Merge

Then apply gradients and effects.
