PDF not rendering photos at high resolution all of a sudden after latest update

This just started with the latest update. All of a sudden I save at Press Quality for a PDF and the images are not displaying like they should. See AI file on left and PDF on the right. What is going on? I've been doing this for years and never had this issue. Now my customer won't approve the ad because they are saying the images are low resolution but they aren't. I even then embedded the images and then the PDF is 100MB larger when saved but still looks exactly the same. Screen shot link below:

Hi Gavin,

Sorry to see that you are facing issues with PDF not rendering properly. Please check if there's any change the the preset done in the newer version as compared to the old one while saving the PDF. Something like a downsampling or compression. You can also try to tweak the preset settings and check, do share the result.
