Problems with the latest version of Illustrator (2022)

I seem to be experiencing problems with the 2022 version of Illustrator.

When working on complex documents I'm finding that huge chuncks of the document will simply disappear. I have to resize the view or scroll around to get them to reappear, but as soon as anything is adjusted other bits will disappear. It's a real PIA.

I've just posted elsewhere about other display/rendering problems we're having with InDesign too.

(Lack of processing power is not the issue.)

I have the same issue as well and everything is up-to-date. Not only that I have a brand new iMac with very few files. I have a fair few placed images and using gradients but I have to scroll away from the elements that I have moved and back to view it properly.Screenshot 2021-11-28 at 1.05.29 pm.pngScreenshot 2021-11-28 at 1.05.17 pm.png

Hi All,

Sorry about the trouble.  I would request you all to share a few more details like:

  • The exact OS and version of Illustrator
Does this happen while working on a specific document or all?

  • Could you please share a sample document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud, Dropbox, or any other similar service and share the download link here or via DM.

  • Where are these files saved (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?

  • When did this start happening? Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, plugins, or web extensions installed recently.

  • Does turning off “GPU Performance” from Illustrator Preferences > Performance > uncheck GPU Performance helps to resolve the issue?
  • Screenshot of “About This Mac.” (both Overview and Displays tab)
  • Are you using an external monitor(s)? If yes, with which port and cable combination it is connected. Also, share its model no with us.
  • Which GPU is installed on your device? Are you using any external GPU?

We are here to help. We just need more information.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini
