Ich definiere also "doppellagige" Pfade ("Straßen") und speichere diese als Bildpinsel.
In der Anwendung zeichnen sie ZUNÄCHST in JEDEM gewähltem Linien- und Flächenwerkzeug (siehe integrierte Kreis+Ellipse in der "Karte") wie definiert, doch wechselte dies dann "auf einmal" im Malprozess "unkontrollierbar"?!? Siehe Ellipsenbeispiele...
Sicher ich kann ausgewählte Pfade über den definierten Bildpinsel wie gewünscht umwandeln, aber warum wechselt dies IM Malprozess in verschiedene Varianten (wohl) je nach ausgewählter Ebene? Warum und wie wechselt Illustrator zu alternativen Dimensionen bzw. Farben?
"Einfach" ist kein Pinsel, sondern entfernt den Pinsel vom Pfad.
Das Pinsel-Werkzeug kann aber nicht ohne einen Pinsel zeichnen.
Die Lösung dazu ist: verwende das Buntstift-Werkzeug.

Gibt es irgendeinen Grund, dass das unbedingt Bildpinsel sein müssen?

Nein, überhaupt nicht. Generell stelle ich fest, daß ich wohl ein Handhabungsproblem mit "den" Pinseln habe, das ich mittlerweile extrem genervt nicht verstehe:
Ich möchte zum Beispiel eine profilierte relativ dünne Linie zeichnen. Ich stelle also im "Breitenprofil" z.B. das "Augprofil" (2. in der Hierarchie) ein und im "Ausgangsprofil für Pinsel" "Einfach" (Konturstärke=1pt). Wähle ich dann den Pinsel und beginne zu zeichnen, wechselt Illustrator zum 1. Pinsel (Kalligraphiepinsel, 5pt) in der Pinselpalette und zeichnet einen gleichmäßig profilierten Pinselstrich in 5pt...?!? Wähle ich daraufhin im "Ausgangsprofil für Pinsel" wieder "Einfach" verändert sich der Pfad wie anfänglich geplant. Zeichne ich weiter, beginnt dasselbe wieder von vorne...?!? DAS KANN ES JA WOHL NICHT SEIN.
Wie kann man "normal" zeichnen ohne daß Illustrator wie beschrieben ständig dazwischen funkt...
Offensichtlich wählt Illustrator immer den 1. Pinsel in der Pinselpalette. Habe schon überlegt WIE man einen
simplen Pinsel an diese Stelle setzen kann. Ich bin auch verwundert, dass ich dieses Problem vorher nie hatte/nicht wahrgenommen habe...?!?
Habe ihr Video heruntergeladen und werde es selbstverständlich durchgehen! Gerade jetzt bin ich genervt. *;O) Danke für den Link.

Ich fasse also zusammen, daß ich keinem prinzipiellen Fehler oder falschem Eindruck bezüglich Illustrator und seinem Funktionsprinzip unterliege. Seltsam, daß es kein direktes Zeichnen von profilierten Linien gestattet, als wenn man nicht einen diesbzgl. Grafikstil definiert (Annahme?!? > Ok auch das funktioniert NICHT)...?!? Oder wie von ihnen jetzt dankenswerterweise präzisiert mit dem Buntstift-Werkzeug...
Habs jetzt ausprobiert und bin erleichtert. Vermutlich ist es töricht dies anzumerken bzw. dagegen "anzudiskutieren", aber ich verstehe die Inkonsequenz der Logik hierbei nicht so ganz: Pinsel-Werkzeug kann nicht "ohne" Pinsel zeichnen, wohl aber der Bleistift... Aber vielleicht bedeutet es hierbei "nur", daß ich einen weiteres tieferes Prinzip nicht verstehe... Danke.

I think it's a fair question. The pencil tool is basically just the brush tool without a brush, and vice versa. Why not a single tool combining them? -- select 'basic' and you have the pencil, select a brush and you have... the brush.

So the pencil tool is just a specific brush tool. Ok. I can take that classification. I am sorry not fully understanding the rest, even not being too stupid. Vice versa means what?!?
Using a brush, selecting `basic´ makes Illustrator jumping back being a brush ignoring ´basic´...not a pencil?!?
What do you mean by "combining"? Sorry, asking potential trivial aspects. Thanks!

I'm not saying this is the case, I'm positing a hypothetical.
The pencil tool is not the brush tool, as things are now. But it works almost identically to the brush tool, except it draws simple stroked paths. So could they perhaps be merged into one tool?
I think Monika posed one possible reason why not.

Das Pinsel-Werkzeug speichert die Druckpunkte und sonstigen Eigenschaften, wenn man ein Grafiktablett benutzt. Das macht das Buntstift-Werkzeug nicht. Dieses Speichern der Druckpunkte ist in der Regel witzlos, wenn man nicht gleichzeitig einen Pinsel verwendet.
Ich vermute, dass diese Grafiktablett-Funktion der einzige Grund für die Existenz des Pinsel-Werkzeugs ist.
