"Optimize Illustrator for high resolution."

I just bought a new computer with Windows 10 and installed Illustrator CC. Every time I open Illustrator, I get this message:

optimize.PNG

How can I make it go away?

I have tried changing my display settings in Windows and changing the settings under Preferences > User Interface > For High-PPI displays...

Neither worked -- the message still shows up.

I've also checked for updates and Illustrator is up-to-date.

The worst thing about this message is that it's useless -- it doesn't allow you to click on it for more information, and it doesn't tell you HOW to do it.

It seems like a small thing, but it's very annoying.

I've only had my laptop now for about a week and I thought for sure after 2 or 3 rounds of windows updates that it was good to go but I woke up this morning to even more updates. This time I searched for more to make sure I got them all. The notification still popped up on open but this time when I increased the app scaling in the Windows Display Settings and signed out of my profile then back in it no longer came up. I changed the app scaling back to 100%, signed out and then in and it was fina

How does this appear? Is it inside a larger dialog box? Or just this message on the screen?

It appears as a fly-out on the bottom right of the display.

I think the question is moot now. This was happening on a new, high-end computer with Windows 10 Pro. It turns out that Windows 10 Pro apparently has several issues with high-end computers. (Specifically, it's not compatible with NVIDIA graphics cards, it doesn't install correctly on solid-state drives, text doesn't always render properly on high-dpi screens, etc.

It may have been a side effect of one of these other issues. Regardless, I've returned the entire system and am once again using my old computer, on which this is not an issue.

Thank you for responding!

I just purchased an MSI GT72VR laptop with Windows 10 Home and I get this extremely annoying message every single time I open Illustrator. None of the other Adobe programs do this, only Illustrator. Even after changing the windows scaling to something else it continues to appear.

Interesting... when I had this issue, it was also on a 17-inch laptop (Dell Precision 7710). I wonder if this is related to the other issues that Windows 10 (the "Anniversary Update," in particular) has caused with high-end computers.

(After hours with Dell Pro Support, Dell recommended that I return the system and re-order the same system with Windows 7 instead of Windows 10 – a completely disappointing result. By the time I re-ordered the system, it was nearly impossible to get it with Windows 7, and I had to get it with Windows 10 again. Perhaps some of these annoying issues will have been fixed by the time my new system arrives.)

For anyone having this problem in the future, make sure you've downloaded ALL the updates, restart your computer and then check for more updates. Once you think you've got them all change your app scaling and then sign out of your profile or restart your computer. Open Illustrator and that notification SHOULD be gone. If not, only god can help you now. If it is, then throw a neighborhood party and celebrate. Its safe to change it back to 100% scaling without worry of it coming back.

Halleluia! Thanks #Ancha72!

I looked for answers on this 6 months ago and gave up. Just tried your solution and it worked! Finally, got rid of that buggy annoying beast.

Thank you for a long sought after solution!

Which solution worked for you? I now have a new laptop, have tried all the solutions listed here, and the message still pops up.

The easiest way I've found is to go to Notifications and Actions in the Settings Menu. Scroll down in that window until you see Adobe Illustrator and disable notifications.
