Hello,

Does anyone know if you can save clipping masks without the unused parts of the used image.

I am testing a print on wood/laser cut project where I am using several large images and the file is getting a bit too large to send to the printer....

thank you

Joris

Joris,

Presuming you need the Clipping Path as vector for the cutting and that you can have unused/invisible parts of the image outside the cut, you can try this, after creating the Clipping Paths, and remember to keep a backup of the original artwork (and intermediate steps):

1) Select each Clipping Path and apply Object>Path>Offset Path with a suitable small positive value,

2) Copy the original image and save it at the reduced size corresponding to the W and B of the offset path, then remove both the offset path and the original image, then centre align it with the Clippping Path.
