Hi there,

When I highlight text in the layers panel or any text within tools to make changes or search, the text is highlighted in white (white text and white background). This obviously is not possible to read, so I usually end up having to just retype my text. Is there a way to change the highlight color? It seems like it used to highlight black with white text.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. I would suggest you try the following steps and let us know how it goes:

  • Does resetting Illustrator Preferences ( https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html) help to resolve the issue?
Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.
  • For Mac only: Try changing the Accent and Highlight color in macOS System preferences.

  • Try running the app in Safe Mode (Mac/ Windows)
  • Rename the CEP folder to CEP.old from the following location:
    MAC: /Library/Application Support/Adobe
    Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
  • If that doesn't help, rename the extensions folder to extensions.old in the following location:
    MAC: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP
    Windows:C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP
  • If that doesn't help either, uninstall the application or whole Creative Could apps using the CC Cleaner tool if you haven't, and then reinstall from the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

Let us know how it goes. We will be looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini
