Hi,

I have an Illustrator file that I have share for review with my colleagues . we are working on it together, them leaving coments and everything is going fine. After a couple of hours I did some small changes and wanted once mopre to update the current version, however now the only option I have is to make a new link for sharing.  But I want to just update the Version that I have shared previously, how can I solve it? I tried quitting Illustrator and reopening the file again and I still have the same problem.

Hello @Marina303696150zau,

We understand that technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind sharing more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, the folder location where the file was originally saved (local/network/removable drive/cloud-synced folder like Google Drive/Dropbox/etc.), and if any changes were made to the file/folder where it was saved, so we can investigate this further?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hi Anubhav,

sure! I am using it on Windows 11 Enterprise, Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621. I have a creative Cloud subscription with Illustratir 28.5.

The first file was saved locally on my PC - I created a share link, updated it a few times with new artboards and updated the images on the artboards. After one of the changes suddenly I did not have the option to update the link content anymore and only the option to create a new link was available.

I then created my next work file in the cloud, shared a link with my colleagues, did pretty much the same - added one new artboard and changed some images. First the update content worked, but in about an hour the same thing happened - there was no update content option anymore, jsut create a new share link, which is incredibly frustrating since all my colleagues are now confused between all the links.

I did not move or rename either of the files, just kept workin inside of them drawing new graphic and adding new artboards (first it was ok and even the new artboards were appearing in the updated version, so this should not have been the problem).

I would really appreciate help in solving this.

Also in order to solve the issue I tried closing and opening Illustrator again and restarting my computer completely, but once I reopened the files, the update content option was still gone and I had to create a new link for each as it was the only option available for share.
