I have tried to export this image as an SVG in all known ways, and the end result is always clipped at the boundinh box. I have included two screen shots of the file open in illustrator before export with the bounding box, and the resulting svg with clipped edges is show in the second screen shots in photoshop. I have tried to export the entire artboard instead of just the object but the clipping still occurs. What setting if any can I choose to export the entire object without cutting off the edges?

I can see there is still a stroke on your artwork. Expand the appearance, group everything and try to export again. Let us know if that works.

I would like to retain the shape of the stroke as it is if possible, but the same thing also happens without the stroke enabled. The ends of the spikes still are clipped even though the bounding box states that it is within it.

Can you show a screen shot of your artwork without stroke and the shape selected. So we can see how you drew it. The extreme spikes are created because of the strokes. It has to do with how the handles are located at your anchor points.

So your goal is to get this into Photoshop?
There are better ways than SVG for that.
What happens if you open the SVG iin a browser. Still clipped?
All those items in your Illustrator Layers panel - what do they belong to? Can you please show only the relevant things - the artwork, the artboard, the Layer it is on. The things that you export. It would help to have your actual AI file.
