Terrible Performance - Crashes, freezes - App unusable

Illustrator performance has been absolutely horrific last 10 or so days. I'm up to date with the latest version, running macOS monterey on an M1 mini with 16gb memory. No other apps open when using Illustrator. Super basic usage leads to seconds-long lags, general interface freezes, and crashes. It's so bad that I cannot use the app at all for any purpose. This is honestly pretty bad now that it's almost 2022. Hope it turns around soon.
