I've created a logo using a white stroke to block out some of the logo behind text. Now I need to use the on a coloured background and off course the white now shows up. I can not figure out how to do what I want another way. Using Illustrator CS6. Can anyone help? Thanks

There are different ways, for example Pathfinder, Shape Builder or Knockout Group.

The appropriate method depends on how the drawing is constructed.

It would be a good idea to cleanly construct this logo anyway.

You need to outline all the strokes in that logo and expand all effects and brushes and whtever you may have used. Then you can punch the white shapes out of the underlying objects.

The logo won't be easily editable afterwards, so you want to make this on a copy.
