I get this problem every day after a couple hours of use. At this point I'm unable to save, print or use any dialog box. The only solution is to force close the program and utilize the recovery feature. I've submitted this issue before to no response. This is the latest version and all windows updated art up to date.Illustrator Issue.jpgexpand image

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I would request if you can share a few more details like:

  1. Does this happen while working on a specific file?
  2. If yes, where is the file saved, locally or on any network or shared drive?
  3. If this is happening on multiple files, I'd recommend resetting the preferences for Illustrator by following the steps below:
  • For Windows

    • Close all Adobe applications.
    • Go to Location C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
    • Rename  Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Illustrator 24 Settings folders to Adobe Illustrator.old and Adobe Illustrator 24 Settings.old
    • Launch Illustrator from the Creative Cloud.

Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and Illustrator will recreate new folders with default settings

Regards

Rishabh

Thanks for reaching out Rishabh,

This does not happen with a specific file or file type. The files are saved locally on my internal ssd. I've also had a customer service rep remotely reset my peferences as you said and the problem is still persists.

Thanks,

Steve P.

Thanks for confirming Steve. Could you please try booting the system into Safe Mode (https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode) and check how it works there.
