unable to export .... resolution too high??

Hi
hoping someone here can help. I am trying to export a file for Society 6. One of the products needs to be 3700 x 7400px. There are many others that have larger sizes.
So, I have my design. I scaled it to match the px. My artboard is exactly the same size. I then go to 'export as' and I get a couple different messages. One is 'the operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (now).'
Or that the resolution is too big.
I have not had any trouble with resolutions this size before. I have even had an a4 sized file and it saved just fine.
Only started this weekend.
My normal go-to for saving is
* export as
* png or jpeg
* 300dpi
* maximum quality
any ideas as to what is happening??
New to Ai, so laymans terms would be appreciated. 🙂

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I need to import an image that is 3700 x 7400 at 300dpi (it will not accept 72dpi). Is there any way around this? I am importing into Society6 (a Print On Demand website for products). Can I somehow save it/export it into Ps and then try to save at 300dpi?

Open the file in Photoshop, Image > Image Size...
Set the resolution to 300 and uncheck Resample.
Save the file.
