Unwanted Revolveing Tools

Every time I create an revolved object  at some point afterwards when I go to use my brush or any of the other tools they all revolve automatically. I thought I had narrowed it down to happening when I copied  and pasted in the 3D object I wanted. Thats when all my tools would default to revolving everything, but im not so sure anymore. It feels like a bug but I wonder if some setting keeps getting turned on? Im still somewhat new to Illustrator and this is very frustrating. I can't create a new 2D stroke on any layer as soon as all my tools get set to doing this 3D revolving.

Appearance panel menu:

Check "New artwork has basic appearance"

Whether "New artwork has basic Appearance" is checked or not it will still create 3D revolves on its own.

Can you open the Appearance panel and see if there is an effect applied to the layer?
