warp effect

It doesn't matter which warp effect type that I select, they all start out with the same settings.  What's the purpose of having ~10 different options when they are all the same?  Actually from I could see, there are two different versions (one set vertical with -12, -66, 54 and one set with horizontal, -12, -66, 54)

Newbie - so if I'm missing something please let me know.

It might be that the preview is not updating in the Warp dialog box. What happens if you take the Preview checkmark off and back on again, or if after warping you click OK in the Warp Options dialog box?

Can you please be more precise with your descriptions? And maybe screenshots show it more clearly.

Are you referring to Effect > Warp or Object > Envelope?

I am not able to replicate the issue. These are a few warps that I tried and they are all different. You may need to reset the Preferences in Illustrator, but first you might try just quitting Illustrator and restarting it. https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html
