Only one None, Registration, and one swatch color shows up on Illustrator when I click to change colors for fills and strokes. How can I return it that it loads the preset colors and also recently used colors/recently saved swatches? Thank you.

The swatches are in the document.

You did probably bypass the New document profiles by opening a raster image?

Hi There, This is very common to see

You can load the default colors, the used color and other options from this menu

Let me know if that works for you

Thank you Eugenio. It is a step forward. I have the print color dialog box on my screen now as it's own entity.

However, I have always been able to click the square color for fill and stroke (see red box below) and these default colors would appear there. Furthermore, recently created swatches would appear at the end of the list of the "default" colors.

Monika, you are 100% correct. I can't entirely discover why this one document is acting this way, though I am relieved to see that this is not a systemic issue.

You once helped me on a project 2 years ago Monika and I am happy to see you are still supporting the Illustrator community.

Thank you.

I can see that in your color panel you have a pantone color, did you create that color? When you don't see colors you may have opened an EPS file or an image which does not have the colors by default, or it may be that the file you opened was created by another person and the colors were deleted.
Question for you, can you tell me what kind of file you have?
In the upper left corner it says the name of the file and if it is an .AI or .EPS or .JPG etc.

Dear Eugenio,

Yes, I converted a PSD to AI file, which must be the culprit. I did create that color for another project, I am not sure why it is here. For this project, I will use the color guide you showed me and will now be more aware when starting other projects. I am a little surprised that it won't load, but I am satisfied by the help and guidance I received on the forum.

Have a great day for now!

Hal

Just one thing

If you create a project instead to open a PSD in Illustrator, Place the file (from the file menu) and you can have all the colors in your swatches panel

Take care
