Why it still can't use any slightly "complex" shape as clipping mask?

For example, a fully closed compund shape like this is considered too complex to use as clipping mask.

Like, are you still running on windows 95?

Not only I should be able to use anyshape I want, if I group a bunch of shapes together I should be able to use a group as a clipping mask too. If you take it serious you should be able to use transperency shape as mask too, and the masked content should inherent the transperency property.

Please. I'm not sure what you've done in the past 10 years but looks like a whole lot of nothing to me.

Ok, thank you, that works.

But still, terrible UX. The three menu clicks are easily automated when attempting to clipping through a complex shape or a group of shapes. A dialog box and click ok can be tolerated.
