illustrator menu flash open when clicked and them immediately close

When trying to open any on screen panels or icons etc they open and immediately close automatically making them totally useless and i cannot change any values. This does not happen in any other program i.e. photoshop lightroom etc.
Not sure if there is a setting i can change. I have tried re-enstalling illustrator but the problem remains.
Any advise please.

same problem in 2024 and 2025 - Illustrator closes immediately when opened - i can not do my job!!! any help?

yesterday illustrator worked again. I've been doing a job with it all day and today I can't open that job ANYMORE. own mistakes as always. I booted OS in safe mode - that didn't help. I can't afford it anymore - I urgently need an illustrator for my work. please help me finally permanently!
