Looking for "Release to Layer" in web version

Use Case

I am preparing my artwork in Illustrator (web) so that I can import the puppet into Adobe Character Animator. But, to accomplish this I need to keep each part as its own layer (not path). 

Problem Statment:

My original artwork is SVG, which I can import into Illustrator (web) but... they are remain grouped, insetad of being spearated into individual layers.

As a work around - I am manually creating new blank layer and move each object from the SVG into a layer.

Cumbersome.

New Feature Request:

• I found that in desktop version of Illustrator, there is automatic conversion , when I import SVG and then in layers panel use the 'Release to layers' (build) or (sequence) https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/layers.html . I'd like to see this option also implemented in the web version of Illustrator..
