Cannot type horizontally anymore

Win10. Illustrator--latest version.

I cannot type horizontally anymore. All my type is rising vertically. Checked 'type orientation' and it says 'horizontal' yet the type is vertical.

So here's what I did yesterday. I installed free trial of Astute Graphics plugins. And added Adobe Font--Aileron. That's it.

Later in the day I noticed that my type has gone woncky--as described above.

Any suggestions??

Open Preferences  > General and set the angle to 0°
