I need to create a power point template using a stock AI file but have no idea where to begin. It looks like this:
But I don't understand how to separate them into individual slides?
Does it need to be PowerPoint? Or will a PDF presentation do?
If the latter, make the whole thing in Illustrator. Is probably painful, but maybe less painful than converting the graphics.
You could try this plugin: How to convert Illustrator to PowerPoint and Keynote, Illustrator converter
Or just rebuild the design in PowerPoint from the ground up, which will be the cleanest solution in order to get a proper file.

Is there a reason why Adobe Stock offers "Presentation Templates" for download as Illustrator files if they aren't exportable to any presentation software? I would assume the purpose of downloading a template would be to save time, but even if I edit one of these templates in Illustrator, there does not appear to be a way to transfer the file to PowerPoint, Keynote, etc. in a way that allows individual elements to remain editable - which is key to being able to animate the presentation. The software mentioned above appears to work well, but I can't justify the $99.00 cost for a plug-in that isn't even necessary if I source my presentation templates from an alternative stock site, that provides the file in .ppt out of the gate. I'm genuinely curious, do that many people design presentations specifically for PDF?

If you ask me, this AI based presentation design doesn't make sense at all.
If you want to design a PDF presentation, then InDesign would make some sense and I would assume that people actually use it for this purpose. You can create animations and you can embed video and audio.
PowerPoint et all makes a lot more sense.
But Adobe Stock offers what people upload to it and what is technically OK. So maybe someone actually shoots themselves into the foot and creates a presentation in Illustrator and then could use this file.

Hi, I found an alternative way.
You group each slide, then you go to Export > Export for Screens > Assets. Here you drag and drop all the slides and each group will show singularly. At this point, you can export them in SVG, import in Power Point and Right Click -> "Convert to Shape". You will be able to edit, but not change the text.
Hope it helps.
