Hello all

Is there a way to link/group text and pic n so I can apply a grunge effect using transparency to both objects

The unite option does not work no expending the text.

Thank You

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I would suggest you to visit this (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/combining-objects.html) article we have created. It should help you combine the object in Illustrator.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks & Regards,
Anshul

Hello Anshul,

Are you talking about the UNITE option in Pathfinder?

Does not work with text or with the text expended.

Thank you.

To apply a grunge effect you can use an opacity mask.

The objects could be grouped for this (but don't even need to be)

Create a group from your text and the pic. Try to use your grundge items as opacity mask for the new created group.

If that works for you

have fun

😉
