For some reason all of a sudden I can't scale text using the selection tool.

When i hover over the corners nothing happens. If i do the same thing with an object i can drag to resize. I've tried expanding the text to a shape and it doesnt work. I've tried toggling the bounding box on and off. Still no luck.

What am I missing?

After restarting Illustrator the select/scale tool worked as normal again. Weird.

You have probably lost the bounding box, need to turn it on and do a restart. I had the same problem, followed those steps, and it works fine again.

Go to the menu item View > Show Bounding Box
