Visual C++ template for Illustrator 2020 SDK, Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition

The file structure is different for Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition than for the Professional and greater editions. Microsoft never built a 2017 Express version that I am aware. This means that the Illustrator template for new projects cannot be used as built and described in the Getting Started Guide. The file paths do not exist in the community edition.

How are people using the template to start new projects in VS 2017 community or are they just bringing in old projects? There is no mention of the community edition in the SDK.

I have not managed to make the template work at all. And the sample code projects are all too tied up in a big project structure to easily rip them out for a stand alone project. For new projects my starting point have been the HelloWorld plug-in described in the Getting Started Guide on page 28.
