AI-Masking is not recognizing subjects, objects and backgrounds.

This has been a problem since version 13-2. I had hoped that it would be resolved with subsequent updates but it persists (had no difficulties before). Masking will recognize sky, linear & radial gradients, and brushed elements. But for the others it starts to analyze then immediately stops. Is there anything I can do or does Adobe have to correct this problem? I am using Lightroom on Windows V10.

A couple of points:

  • 2 GB of VRAM is low for LrC with AI now days. Yes that meets minimum required specs for using LrC. No it does not meet requirements/recommendations for full GPU acceleration. And some say for AI at least 4 GB, but many find 8 GB speeds AI up.
  • The Default value for the Camera RAW CACHE limit is way too low. Even Adobe states that, and recommends at least 20 GB. Some people go higher than that based on experience. Some pros indicate to increase it based on how many photos are in an edit session. But bump that up to at least 20 GB. This WILL effect develop module performance (but not Library Module performance)
  • It is not exactly clear what Windows resources some LrC functions eat up. For example AI DeNoise, and Photo Merge, and perhaps some complex AI masking. You might want to look at your Windows Temp files, and your Windows paging file as well as the Camera RAW CACHE.

Actualy, I think no:

So Windows Driver Store v 22.19.172.769 (GPU Driver)

You might want to look at that again, probably via the AMD support pages. The Windows Store Driver 22.19.172.769 looks to be several years old. How are you updating? From MS Updates (Bad), from your computers support pages (Is this a Dell, they are especially bad at this). Or via a AMD app?
