Ai Masks/Healing constantly undo and need updated. "Update Ai Settings"

Ai Masks/Healing constantly undo and need updated.  For example:

- Use Ai mask on a few photos through-out a photo set.

- Go through photos to make sure I'm happy before exporting and see the error "Some Ai masks need updated"

- Update all Ai error messages through-out the photo set.

- Go through the photos again before I export and I see the same message again.

This is infuriating me as I now need to update two Ai settings and then export those two photos and move on to the next two Ai errors to export those separately.  This is the only way for me to export photos with Ai settings working.

I've just got a a brand new MacBook Pro 16-inch M2 Pro 12-core CPU 19-core GPU 32GB/1TB and one of the main reasons I updated was because I thought my last laptop wasn't powerful enough to handle the Ai on Lightroom.  Turns out, it's just a bug?!

In the same folder as where your catalog is kept, a separate file should exist that keeps the AI masks, it will have the name syntax of "catalogname.lrcat-data". Perhaps a permission issue exists, perhaps it got corrupted. You might try closing LrC, then rename or move that file. Then restart LrC. All AI masks will need to be updated.

Changing the name of the file worked!  Thanks so much -  I was going mad!

This worked. For anyone else with this problem here is what I did -

Basically deleted this file "catalogname.lrcat-data" and let Lightroom Classic rebuild it, now the masks are working as normal.

1. Find where your Lightoom catalog is stored by pressing Edit > Catalog Settings > Location.

2. Close Lightroom

3. Go to your catalog location from Step 1 and find the "catalogname.lrcat-data" file

4. Make a copy of the "catalogname.lrcat-data" somewhere else on your pc (just in case)

5. Delete the "catalogname.lrcat-data" in your catalog location from step 3

6. Open Lightroom and in the Library mode (not Develop) update all AI masks: Photo > Develop Settings > Update AI Settings.

7. Feel a great sense of relief as your Masks are working again

I will try that!  I started having this issue last week and it's making me so upset I feel like I'm getting nowhere with my edits and have a session to deliver soon!

I have a mac and adobe lightroom, not lightroom classic. Do you have suggestions for this process with a mac in the adobe lightroom app? This is slowing down my editing SO much and I'm trying to get through these galleries due to clients! Any help would be so appreciated.

Contact Adobe. This via a Chat. Before doing so, prepare your notes and information ahead of time as to be more efficient in communicating. Your info that you have posted in your Discussion is a start for the description, and probably have a copy of your LrC /Help/System Info/ as a text document on hand, so that you can paste or attach that into the chat.

To accomplish the Chat, bring up an Adobe webpage, and click on the Chat button. (see image below) This will start a Chat. At first the Chat will be with a chatbot, Typing “Agent” into the chat text field will bypass the initial chatbot. If an agent does not enter the chat then be assertive in requesting an actual Adobe Tech join in the chat.

In the Chat include (as mentioned above) a description of the issue, and probably your System Info. And include a link to your discussion.

You may want to ask for a phone call.

And please keep notes so that you can share them in your post for others to see.

For example, bring up:

https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

and click on the Chat button, typically found in bottom right corner

Every single time I open LRC to work on my clients wedding photos!!!!!  It is EXHAUSTING!!  I find this  inexcusable on ADOBE's part.  We pay $60/m for this?????  Get the bugs out or i'll be canceling and owning my own software editor from another company!

When does it happen?  every instance of opening LRC from a closed state.

What do i experience? all masks, Remove, heal, clone, blur, Denoise, crop edits that I make from the previous session are needing to be updated.... not just a one button update, but I have to click on every mask created find the subject/object/preset used and update it.  Also if I update the masks first, then go to the Blur and update that, next I have to RE-update the masks, crop, remove/heal/clone, etc... all over again!

What needs to be fixed?  If I need to update, it needs to analyse and know the sequence of priority for a one button push update on all!   I really should not have to do the update if it would just save to the catalouge properly.  I have LRC set to ask me to save the cat file every time prior to exit.

This bug is a big time waster and is costing me time and money!  Fix it Adobe! or I'm gone!
