An internal error has occurred: Win32 API error 193 (“(unknown error)”) when calling ShellExecuteExW

When trying to use OnOne plug in I get the following error message. With Lightroom Classic.

“An internal error has occurred: Win32 API error 193 (“(unknown error)”) when calling ShellExecuteExW from AgWorkspace.shellExecute”

Then a few minutes later I get another error message in lightroom “Sorry Lightroom could not complete your request. Unable to setup communication with ON1 NoNoise AI”

  • I have uninstalled lightroom and all adobe applications
  • Uninstalled Topaz and all plug ins
  • Deleted all related adobe folder
  • I have made sure there are no security issues with being administrator
  • Turned off my VPN while downloading everything

Rebooted my machine then reinstalled everything. Any I still get the same issue.

Any ideas?

Those steps may not have deleted LR's preferences file, where plugins can store all sorts of information. (You didn't specify which folders were included in "all related adobe folder".) Try resetting LR's preferences:
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help. And if it doesn't help, you'll probably have to contact OnOne technical support.

- First, restart your computer. If the problem persists, try resetting LR's preferences:
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.

- If resetting preferences doesn't help, use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to completely uninstall all Creative Cloud apps on your computer (not just Lightroom Classic).  Then reinstall the Creative Cloud app and use that to install Lightroom Classic.
