I used to work mostly in Lightroom (cc) but as my cloud storage is full (1TB) I want to move everything to an external SSD using Lightroom Classic. After that I can free up the cloud storage. I have been trying to use the sync for weeks. But it keeps getting stuck, needs to be rebuild, then starts uploading files already on the disk, etc. It's very painstaking. My download speed is around 200mbit so best case it would take 2 days to sync (only downloading) which is fine, no rush... But with it getting stuck/corrupt I think my entombment will be first.
I already deleted the files that were stuck syncing/corrupt (which occurs more often lately, but that is another topic).
I did see there is an seperate downloader app. What is the experience with that? After the initial bulk download I should be fine with sync using classic. My question is if Lightroom Classic will recognize what is already downloaded using the downloader. Or if the downloader is not an viable option what the best workflow would be to download everything and keeping it synced up.
I'm debating also my workflow as I don't want everything on the cloud but would like a copy on disk. Is the best way to just first download the RAW's to disk and then to lightroom? I usually work direct from ipad to lightroom as I enjoy the editing process this way.
And the last question, what is a suitable workflow to only delete cloud files and not the synced RAW on disk?
I might just keep lightroom and classic seperated after the big sync if this is the easiest.

If Lightroom-Classic does not seem to be downloading then the 'Download App' might be your best option-

Thanks. Yea I'll try that. Because Lichtroom CC keeps using a lot of memory but with no progress. I hope that once the initial bulk is backed up using that tool, that it syncs up from that moment.
