I am editing a school with 200 pupils, each need a separate gallery in Pixieset. I don't want to export each of the 200 children separately into a different folder on my computer beacuse, meh, that seems like a lot of work.
Ideally I would export and it would copy the collection structure I have. So for example, the 10 images in the collection "Tom Smith" and the 10 images in "Jane Parker" would export into folders of that name. However as I understand it there is no facility to mimic the collection folders on export.
So instead I would like to amend the title of the image to include the childname, so they would all export into the same folder but the filename would show me the child's name.
So in the above example again, I would end up with a folder with files like :
HIGHSCHOOL-tomsmith-01
HIGHSCHOOL-tomsmith-02
HIGHSCHOOL-tomsmith-03
HIGHSCHOOL-tomsmith-04
HIGHSCHOOL-tomsmith-05 etc
HIGHSCHOOL-janeparker-01
HIGHSCHOOL-janeparker-02
HIGHSCHOOL-janeparker-03
HIGHSCHOOL-janeparker-04 etc
But of course the only place in Lightroom showing the childname is the COLLECTION title.
Is there a way to incorporate the collection name in the filename on export?
At the moment the only solution I can find is to select all 10 of the photos for "Tom Smith" and rename the METADATA TITLE manually to "tomsmith" & then set up and export naming convention using this metadatatitle.
As I have such a quantity of files to get through on a regular basis, just looking to see if there is any automatic way to do this - as this would be a MASSIVE timesaver for me!

Does Lightroom have a way to automatically insert the collection name into a new file name? No.
However, with custom naming at Export, you can append or prepend keywords or other metadata fields to the beginning or end of the file name. This is another reason (I have just added it to my list) why you should use keywords or other metadata for this type of organizing rather than collections.
And, this is "sticky", you set it up once on one export, and Lightroom will remember it on future exports without you having to tell LR to do this each time.
