Explorer ,
Dec 20, 2024 Dec 20, 2024

Lightroom Classic 14.1 and 14.1.1

MacOS 15.2

I am unable to add or edit keywords in the Library module.

If I mouse-click in the keyword area nothing happens, it doesn't open to allow edits.

Resetting Preferences didn't help.

If I turn off GPU and restart Lightroom I am able to open the Keyword dialog but previously added keywords are missing and a greyed-out "working..." appears but never updates.

I'm having the same issue.  The problem occurs whenever I import photos into the catalog.  It seems to resolve when I close and then re-open the catalog, but if I import photos again, the Keywording function gets stuck and simply says "working" in grayed out letters.  In order for existing keywords to return or to be able to add new keywords, I have to close the catalog again and then reopen it.  Frustrating.

Have you tried optimizing the catalog (which also happens when you make a catalog backup)?

I always backup the catalog whenever I exit LrC, so yes... the catalog has been optimized.  The Keywords are there now since relaunching the catalog, so I'll have to see if the problem persists the next time I import (but it happened for the last two imports).

Make sure the dropdown menu in the Keywording Panel says "Enter Keywords".
