Can't change to a new photo in Develop Module

New Here ,
Jun 28, 2017 Jun 28, 2017

For the past several weeks I occasionally have the Develop module get stuck on one photo. I believe it happens when I move over to Library to do some things, then come back to start editing new photos. I can progress through photos in Library but when I try to click on develop to edit a photo, it just shows the photo from my previous editing session and won't move off that.  The only solution I have found is to restart Lightroom. Then it starts working again.  I read there was a problem with LR crashing when switching from Library to Develop, but mine is not really crashing. None the less I checked out one of the solutions which was to Select Preferences > Performance and deselect Use Graphics Processor. I found that my check box was already deselected, so that does not appear to be the issue.

I realize I need to start another thread for this but in case it ties in with this problem, just today I also started have trouble with my crop tool.  The crop box will appear in whatever dimension I specify, but the box cannot be moved or changed in size.  Maybe my whole system has become corrupted somehow?

I'm in Lightroom CC. Below is some info from my system if it helps.

Thanks,

Lisa

It is too soon to tell if updating my software solved this problem, as it was intermittent. But I'm going to mark as correct for now and will repost if necessary. Thanks for the heads up on the software update. I thought I was up to date, but was not.

What is your "Latest Version"?

Can you quote your Version NUMBER and your Operating System NUMBER? Or even better screen-clip the top 10 lines of the Lightroom Menu: Help > System Info...

Have you tried disabling the Graphics CPU in Preferences?

ScreenShot112.jpg

Have you tried Deleting (or hiding) the Preferences file?

Here we are literally 7 years later and this issue is still a thing.

No, it is not. The chance that any issue you have today is the same as a years old issue, is very slim, even if it seems the same.

You’ve posted to an ancient thread. It is highly unlikely that the issue described in this thread, though not impossible, is the same one you are currently experiencing. Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better off posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information, including system information, a complete description of the problem, and step-by-step instructions for reproduction.

If the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.

Thank you!
