I just got a new Canon R6 camera and the images are cr3 files. I tried uploading into my new Lightroom 11.0.1 and the files are not recognized. I'm working on an iMac running the latests Monterey version 12.0.1 software. Every conversation I've read, people have said to update software but I'm 100% up to date. I tried the Adobe DNG converter with no luck either. Please Help! What am I missing?

Canon R6 raw files are supported since version 9.4. Did you perhaps select CRAW in the camera? I'm not sure if that is supported.

I'm experiencing this same thing. Have you found a workaround?

Update: Here's what worked for me. In File Handling (top right of import screen) I unchecked "Don't import Suspected Duplicates." In my case, prior to getting my R5 recently, my Lightroom imports never included the jpeg previews I use soley for the purpose of seeing my work in my Cam Ranger app while I'm shooting. Lightroom only ever imported my raw files. Now for some reason Lightroom is giving preference to the JPEG files for importing and is recognizing the raw files as "duplicates" of the jpegs. Hope that helps you too.

You know that LrC can treat jpg + raw as separate files?

IMHO, unchecking "Don't import suspected duplicates" is somehow risky and having it activated helps keeping away from the troubles guaranteed when importing the same photo twice or even more.
