Community Beginner ,
Mar 14, 2019 Mar 14, 2019

Hello,

I like to create a slideshow with Lightroom 6.12 Slideshow Module.

I select some photos but the Buttons "Preview", "Play" and "Export Video" stay disabled.

What ist wrong? How can I fix my problem and export a video?

Thanks in advance!

We've tried out a few things like creating a new windows admin account with a new LR catalog or disable the GPU in device manager. But my issue still persisted.

Although I'm sure I already export videos with Lightroom 6 on this PC nothing works.

Finally I built in another graphic card in my PC (Nvidia GeForce 210 with driver from 11/2016).

Now I can activate the GPU acceleration and the slideshow also works! All buttons are active and I can export videos and view the preview!
I conclude that my GPU

Can you use the Develop module?

What is your OS and version?

Is there any particular reason why you do not use the latest iteration of LR 6 which is 6.14?

There is no reason that I used 6.12. I could just not update to 6.14 with the Adobe Creative Cloud App. I downloaded the newest version from the website of your last answer. After reinstalling Lightroom I now use the latest Version 6.14. But the problem still exists.

From your System information;

Informationen zum Grafikprozessor:

Check OpenGL support: Failed

Vendor:

Nothing is shown, odd, what is your GPU?

Is use of GPU turned on in preferences? Try turning that off. (Hmm, GPUDeviceEnabled: false, so probably not)

Also check your GPU‘s driver version.

By the way, is this a laptop or desktop?

It's a desktop PC with a Intel Mainboard (DH67GD, older than 2015) with Intel(R) HD Graphics (current driver version).

The use of GPU ist turned of and from the FAQ in know:

(Win) GPU Drivers must support DirectX 12 or OpenGL 3.3 and Intel drivers must have been released in 2015 or later. Otherwise, disable the graphics processor in Lightroom's performance preferences.

On my old laptop with the same Lightroom version the slideshow works even the GPU support is enabled or disabled.

The GPU is not needed for the slideshow.

In the library, do you have exclamation marks on the selected images or question marks on the folders?

For the slideshow export to work, the originals have to be accessible.

Thanks for your help but starting with new preferences unfortunately don't fix my issue.

First I disabled and enabled the the "Store Presets With This Catalog" option in the preferences.

Although opening Lightroom with a new empty catalog don't change anything.

Please confirm that you really did reset the preferences as described here:

Resetting Preferences in Lightroom CC/6 – Lightroom Blog

This has nothing to do with the setting where the Presets are stored.

Also, instead of only saying that you are sure that the originals are accessible, post a screen capture of the library showing the images needed for the slideshow in grid view.

After you reset the preference file. Upon starting lightroom, did you get a welcome screen and a few hit screens as if you were starting LR for the first time?

If not, you did not reset the preference file.

Only to be sure I really resetted the preferences I started Lightroom as described in the Lightroom Blog (and take the screenshots ;-))
The first screenshot shows one of the screens with the hints. The second shows my Slideshow module after closing the hint and select some photos. Nothing changed.
Additionally I retried it with a new catalog (see the screenshots).

Although I reset the preferences my user preferences in my main catalog (which are stored in the catalog directory) are still available. Only some display setting are missing. Of course my test catalog doesn't have any user presets.

Here a screenshot of the library module with the selected photos:

I forwarded it to be looked at by the LR support team - please be patient.

Hi Tanja,

Sorry that you cannot preview, play or export Slideshow in Lightroom 6.14 as the buttons are grayed out.

Thanks F.McLion and Davidg for your help.

Tanja, I've sent you a private message, please check and respond.

Thanks,
