Comments field copy and paste to caption field?

Hi

We use the comments field as a way for others on our team to write captions or identify people in photos. Is there a way that those comments can be copied and pasted or edited by the creator of the collection? The comment by another is grayed out and I can't even copy and paste the text. Are comments a part of the meta data?

Hi JennyKlee,

The field is really designed for synchronizing comments with web galleries when using publish services. It works both ways, so if someone leaves a comment on the web against one of your photos uploaded via the publish service it will also appear in Lightroom.

There is a spare field under the metadata tab (EXIF) for user annotation and that may work for your purpose.

Regards,

Mohit
