CR 17.0 AI Denoise from LRc ?

Hi, as far as I understand, Camera Raw is now able to apply AI denoise, enhanced details and super-resolution without an intermediate disk-space-eater DNG file. Is it somehow possible directly within Lightroom Classic ? If not, what's the best workflow in your opinion ?

The Camera Raw team has weighed in. The Smart Object workflow for this feature is not yet supported but we are working on it for a future update.

I did a simple test myself to test the new Dnoise in Camera Raw 17.

I selected the raw image in Win Explorer and did open with PS, and PS launched and the image was in the CR window and I proceeded to apply the Denoise it completed successfully. I selected open and the image was now in the PS no further edits and I just selected to save and the file tips select tiffs tiff. A DNG and a tiff was saved in the folder next to the original image.

In LrC I syncronised the folder and imported the two images.
I did a compare of the tiff and original raw image to see the results. Very pleased with the improvements.

Looking forward it it being added to LrC.

@Tokumeino , Stated in his initial post.
"Hi, as far as I understand, Camera Raw is now able to apply AI denoise, enhanced details and super-resolution without an intermediate disk-space-eater DNG file. Is it somehow possible directly within Lightroom Classic ? If not, what's the best workflow in your opinion ? "

I have reviewed my posts as it relates to your statements above. As far as I understand from the tests I have done and checks online both LrC 14 and ACR 17 apply AI Denoise , Enhance Details and Super resolution in the same manner.
I am awaiting a response from the PS / ACR team concerning the process of using the Edit in PS procedure.

Yes, that is my point. The special thing about the new ACR denoise is that ACR now applies denoise and the other enhancements without creating a new file (DNG). You cannot use that to your advantage in Lightroom Classic yet, because every way you could use ACR denoise will also create a new (TIFF/PSD) file, which is exactly what you wanted to avoid. It's in fact a step in the wrong direction, because the TIFF/PSD files tend to be larger than the DNG file that the OP wanted to avoid! So even if Adobe quickly fixes the problem we are discussing a bit further in this thread, then this smart object workflow is also not an answer to the initial question.

Conclusion: in my opinion the only correct answer to the initial question of this thread is: "Sorry, there is no workflow for Lightroom Classic yet. You will simply have to wait till this is implemented in an update of Lightroom Classic".
