Faced with such a problem... I need to add an existing photo to the stack via a script. The only thing I found in the SDK is " catalog:addPhoto( Path, Photo, 'below')". But since the photo already exists in the catalog, this command does not fit me. The only solution is to remove the photo from the directory, without deleting it on the disk and adding the photo again with an indication in which stack to insert.
