Denoise fails with no error message

New Here ,
Oct 01, 2025 Oct 01, 2025

My last post got flagged for spam so hopefully this goes through.

I am experiencing a wierd bug where whenever I try to use the denoise tool on my photos, the box gets a checkmark like it's going to process the image, but then it just quickly unchecks itself without giving me any kind of error message. I've tried eliminating all the easy fixes that I could think of. Whenever I restart lightroom, the denoise tool will make more progress but only really lasts a few more second before it stops itself without giving me an error message. I'm running the 14.5.1 version of lightroom on my sequoia 15.7.1  2020 mac book pro with well over the ram requirements. I am editing cannon raw files with no other edits made to them before attempting to denoise. I tried resetting lightrooms preferences, turning the denoise tool on and off, and even creating a new photo catalog. Nothing has fixed the issue and my workflow has been completely disrupted. I have no other image editing software downloaded and the only changes that occurred prior to the issue starting was updating my computer and lightroom. I would appreciate any help!!

Thanks!

-Esteban

Please, post the LrC System Info. This can be obtained from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. Use the Copy button located at top right corner of System Info dialog, then paste into your reply.

Ok well I don't know if this is related, but when I click on System Info no dialog shows up, it's just as if I never clicked it. Other options on the help menu seem to be working though. Lightroom is breaking my brain right now.

Try again after restarting your computer and relaunching Lr Classic.

I am still experiencing the same issue. Is there any other information that I could try to retrieve?

System Info not appearing is strange. Can you move Lr Classic across the desktop to check whetherthe  System Info dialog is hidden behind it.

I've attached a screenshot of System Info for reference.

Hey, yeah I moved the lightroom window, but the system info dialog was not behind it (see my screen recording in the link below).

Hi @Steven_Mendez0236, thanks for reaching out! Let's try to figure this out. Since you're unable to grab your system info, can you send a screen recording of your issue, and a numbered list of the exact steps needed to replicate the issue? And if you're able to get it to work, you can find your system info by going to Help > System Info, copying and pasting it into a text file, and attaching it here. Thanks! ^CH

Here is a screen recording of the issue:

The best I can do to describe how the issue occurs is haveing the apple and adobe software and hardware described in my original post. I am using an external hard drive to import photos from. I started a new catalogue, reimported photos, reset preferences, and made sure everything is up to date. The issue occurs on photos that I have not done any other edits on. Thanks.

Upload one of the problem photos (the original, not an export) to Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive or similar free service and post the sharing link here. We can see if the issue is specific to your computer or occurs on other installations.

As I suspected, Denoise of that image completes without error on my Macbook Pro M2 / Mac OS 15.5. That confirms it's not an issue with the photo but rather something specific to your computer. My only suggestion in addition to what you've already tried is to do a clean uninstall-reinstall of LR using the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to completely remove all traces of Creative Cloud apps and then reinstall from scratch:

Hey, I used the creative cloud cleaner tool to clean EVERYTHING that it would let me. Then I reinstalled lightroom and creative cloud. Unfortunately the issue is still persisting and at this pointn I am considering canceling my adobe subscription and moving to another photo editing platform. Is there ANYTHING else you guys would suggest me trying?

Create a test macOS User account with Admin privileges.
Restart your Mac in this account.
Try the operation again.

If it succeeds, your issue is a corrupt user account (not uncommon)
