in previous versions of photoshop and lightroom cc i was able to bounce back and forth from lightroom and photoshop while editing a photo now that seems not possible if there is a way i would like to know how?

Sorry, but I don't understand exactly what you mean. Please describe more detailed what you're tryinfg to do and where's the issue.

Whch version of Lightroom do you use, Lightroom Classic or the cloud based version of Lightroom?

Which version of the Adobe apps you're using?
