I now have 7 hours invested in trying to install Lightroom Classic on my new iMac, not including the download. After stalling out at about 43% after 4 hours, I searched for answers and followed the Adobe recommendation of uninstalling the creative cloud desktop app and reinstalling it. Now another 3 hours in the secon time around, I managed to reach 70%! Making progress, I guess. It's been at 70% for the past 35 minutes: why is this taking so long? The downlaod is done - just trying to finish the installation.

What version NUMBER of MacOS? What version NUMBER of Lightroom Classic? We need the version NUMBERs and not words like "latest" or "up-to-date".
Try temporarily disabling your anti-virus.

Thanks for your reply. I'm running Sonoma 14.6.1. I downloaded the version of LightroomClassic that the Adobe download center gave me when I clicked, 'Downlaod Lightroom Classic'. Wouldn't that bne the latest version, 13.5.1? I don't have any anti-virus software.

Yes, the download completed and from there I clicked on the packet to start the installation. There are no notifications from Adobe. I'm not sure what running a proxy for my internet connection means, so I doubt I am running one (not a tech wizaed here!). I diabled the firewall, though once the download is complete and the install has started, isn't the install application using the downloaded files that are now on the computer? I'm running Sonoma 14.6.1. I have 175 GB available. Thanks!
