Export edit and import keywords structured.

Hi group,

I'm always searching a possibility to export my keywords in a structured way (like I see it in Lightroom), edit them in a text editor like BBEdit and import it with the new structure again.

I miss on every keyword an id and a parent id.

Is it possible to do that in a easy way, or should I have learn to develope a plugin?

Did LightRoom manage internal the keywords with id or only with the keyword himself?

Thanks

Stefan

Lightroom does not have that ability, and has no plugin capability. Lightroom Classic does, and without any need for a plugin, but it does support plugins.

Which Lightroom do you mean?

The built-in commands Metadata > Export/Import Keywords let you export the current keyword list, edit the list in a text editor or spreadsheet (be careful, there are LR glitches with UTF-8 CSV files), and then import the new list. However, any changes to the names of keywords or their hierarchical structure will result in new keywords being created in Keyword List, not to changes to the existing keywords.

If you want to change existing keywords and their structure, while preserving their assignments to photos, you'll need to use the Any Tag plugin's Export/Import Keywords commands.
