I got a new camera and now Lightroom Classic wont name files properly when I export them. I constantly get the warning that the name is a duplicate even though the file number is different. I have selected "custom text-original file name".
[Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules. A ‘bug’ is not just another word for any problem with software!]

Choose another destination folder and check the file name of the exported file. 'Custom text-original file name' means you need to fill in some text, or else the exported file will have the original file name.

I do create a text name for the image, usually the location that the photo was taken in, and the year it was taken in. . And the files have different original file names created by the camera. Having used Lightroom since it was in BETA, I know how to do this. This is why I put my post in "bugs" because the software is not acting normally with these files. Adobe decided to move it to "discussions" because, of course, Adobe software is NEVER buggy.

Bug reports are moved to the 'Bugs' section after they have been verified. And yes, Adobe software does have bugs too, otherwise there would not be a 'Bugs' section to begin with... I doubt very much that this turns out to be a bug, however. If it was, you would not be the first one (and AFAICS the only one) reporting it. And why would a bug like this only affect files of one particular camera, rather than the files from all cameras?
It may be a good idea to give more information. What camera are we talking about? What is the original file name of these images? Do you rename on import? Do you export to the same folder as where the originals are stored? Did you export to another folder to see what happens? All these questions are vital to understand if this could really be a bug, or more likely user error (yes, users make errors too).

Something sounds wrong about that filename template. can you bring that up in your Filename Template Editor, and take a screenshot of it?
this example is not the same, in fact I am overlooking just how to emulate yours. but I include this as an example of the editor:
Note, this may be a MACOS vs WIN OS issue, perhaps on MACOS Custom Name - Original File Name is a preset, while on Windows it is not.

You can obviously create that preset yourself. However, you could make a mistake when you create it, so it doesn't work the way you expected. That is why the first thing the OP should do is simply export an image to another (empty) folder, so he doesn't get that error and can check how the exported image is named.
