Question

Filename Template Editor cannot edit preset

Lightroom Classic version: 11.4.1 [ 202206241800-b406ce4c ]

In the filename template editor there is a preset "shoot-name-subject_date_original file name". However, I cannot find a place in the metadata to type the shoot or subject name and the preset does not allow for entering custom text as a the shoot or subject name. I can edit the preset but then it has to be renamed. How do I use this preset so that I can enter the shoot or subject name?

There are two "Shoot Name....." filename presets in the {Filename Templates} folder on the hard-drive, but they do not show anywhere in any Filename rename function in LrC.

ie. For me- nowhere to be found, or edited in LrC.

I suspect they are specific to Camera Tethering, where you can enter a "Shot..name", but am curious to follow this thread to see other suggestions.

I deleted all the Rename Presets except for the ones I created so cant tell what was default.  Its a non-issue anyway as you can easily create and Name your own to do the same.

Shoot Name is not a token in Tether but Session Name is.

Edit the Preset "shoot-name ....."  to something like this.  You can change Custom Text when using the preset

Then click the up/down dropdown arrows in "Preset" and choose "Update Preset "your preset""

Why does this filename preset template does not allow entering custom text for Shoot-Subject-Name.
