Grey separator lines

New Here ,
Nov 11, 2022 Nov 11, 2022

Hi,

Is it somehow possible to create my self such a grey separator line in the preset section of Lightroom Classic?
I just want to place some of those lines betweeen particular presets.

Thanks in advance.

Ben

When creating the new preset you choose Group into which you want it placed or use the New Group option. See below screenshot.

I do not think that is what the OP is referring to. He is referring to the separator lines that you can place between groups, known as 'clusters'. These can be created in Camera Raw, not in Lightroom.

Hi Johan,

Indeed my question is another one. I want to place grey separation lines my self (see my answer to Ian).

You mention this need to be done in ARC. How to do that?

When you have saved your preset in Lightroom and designated it to a group, open up Adobe Camera Raw and navigate to the preset section. Hold option (Mac) or alt (PC), and right click on the preset you want to put in a cluster. While still holding option / alt, select "Rename Preset". You will now get an advanced rename pop up window where you can designate the preset to a (new) cluster.

You can create your own clusters of presets (separated by grey lines) by editing their .xmp files with a text editor:

Hello Ian,

Thanks for your answer. But this isn't what I want to do. I have quite a lot presets installed (also commercial ones). These presets are now presented in one long list. I want a grey separation line between some of them.
