How can I put LR6 on older Mac if I also have CC on two others?

I purchased LR6 back in 2015 and used it for a time until I finally went with CC. The Creative Cloud (PS & LR) is installed on two Macs. I now have a 3rd Mac on which I would like to install LR6. When I install it, it installs as LR CC with no place to enter a serial #. I have read some advice on the Adobe site that I need to register LR6 under a different Adobe ID to be able to get the serial # entry to come up.

So, my question is: When I purchased LR6, I registered it under my Adobe ID. If I create a new Adobe account to again register this serial # for LR6, will it create any problems because it was already registered under my original Adobe ID?

Incidentally, I spent an hour on the phone yesterday waiting to ask someone what to do about this problem and finally hung up; after the initial response to my call that the current wait time was 1 minute, there was no further communication, only music. When I tried the chat, I waited another 45 minutes before finally getting someone who really didn't know how to help me. For as large a company as Adobe is, this is reprehensible.

Could someone please help me?

You can have LR CC and Photoshop CC installed on all three machines, provided only two are signed-in at any one time. Start by signing-out from the LR help menu on one of the other Macs. I regularly jump between more than two machines and you can check at any time within your Adobe account, which devices are currently activated.

That may be easier than having to worry about transferring a licence to a new ID or confronting mismatch conflicts, e.g. for images edited with features not available in

Thanks for that info. Unfortunately, it won't be an optimum choice for me. The reason I want to install LR6 on the 3rd computer is that I will be traveling in a motorhome going to some very remote places that will definitely not have internet access for the CC to "check-in." I will also be leaving the computer in the motorhome when I go back home so I don't have to carry it back & forth—if I'd forget to sign it out, I'd be stuck not being able to use LR CC on one of my other Macs. That would be a hassle.

Besides that, since I paid for LR 6, I should be able to use it as a stand-alone. There has to be some way to do it.

You can use for up to 90 days without an internet connection and can sign-out from your account if necessary. But I understand you want to use what you purchased.

I guess that the serial number would be detected as having already been registered, but registration is not compulsory.

I would simply give it a try e.g. using a new Adobe ID and trying to licence without registration.

This link shows how to convert a CC or trial version so that it launches as LR6

Thanks again. That link was where I found out about creating a new Adobe ID. It also mentions that if your CC membership is expiring (which mine will in 5 days), don't renew and then try to enter the serial #. I think I'll try that and see what happens.

You will probably have to take action to prevent renewal, most are set to automatically renew each year.
