I seem to be stuck... Lightroom and Photoshop, everything is always updated and the latest CC version of Photoshop does not appear as available as the default preference editor from Lightroom CC. Using High Sierra, everything the latest version... This has been going on for weeks now... I control click on the image I want to open in Photoshop from Lightroom and get only Photoshop 2018 as a choice... I looked in preferences and there is no option to change the default photoshop editor...
I am stuck... How do I change to the new Photoshop CC from Lightroom as the default editor... I just get an error message that Photoshop 2018 is not available...
Any help with this would be appreciated... I just want to open items from Lightroom in the new Photoshop CC
TIA,
Ken

How many versions of Photoshop do you have installed?

I have only CS6 which I keep as my reserved backup of Photoshop and then the cloud-based CC2018. I went into preferences and chose CC2018 app in the applications folder where it is installed and Lightroom responded with the message that CC2018 is already the default external editor... Yet when I control click on an image in Lightroom and choose ‘edit in’ it pauses for a while and then gives me the message that Photoshop CC2018 was not available and the image could not be opened... then... if I wait another few minutes, the image does open in Photoshop CC2018 which is open all the while... strange behavior... in the old days I would reinstall Lightroom, but not sure how that is done with CC apps. I have shut down and restarted and no avail- never had this problem before and is just happening over the past few weeks consistently.

Two issues
Assuming yo are talking about using the Edit In feature, and PhotoShop does not appear.
1. Some users have had to reinstall PS, to fix this. Just go ahead and uninstall then reinstall it from your Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop
2. A new issue has cropped up. If PS is not running when you go and select edit in, and Photoshop comes up, then many menu items are grayed out. IF PS was running, and you try this, then it works fine. Not sure if for this to work PS has to be launched before LR is launched.
You know what. close LR, start PS, run LR, then see if results are different. Otherwise see note (1)
