How to convert CR2 files to bayer or X-trans to use denoise feature?

I purchased a new laptop yesterday specifically so I could update my LR and use the denoise tool for some photos I took way too dark. Only to find out that denoise won't support my CR2 files. Is there a way to convert these files? I'm not having any luck searching and I'm so unfamilar with this kind of thing. TIA

In general, if the AI Denoise won't work on your files, there is no way to convert the files so that it will work.

Some cameras produce de-mosaiced S Raw or M Raw or other de-mosaiced files, which are different than the full RAW that the camera produces, which still have mosaic data. Those de-mosaiced files currently can not run through AI Denoise.

Are those RAW files the normal Canon RAW or are they compressed? The later will fail.

/edit/ yes, I see my use of the word compressed is wrong, what I should state/use is the Word small, as in smaller RAW formats. LrC AI DeNoise currently works with the Full RAW not medium, small, etc.

As far as I know they're the normal canon RAW, but I'll be honest I'm not 100% sure. I didn't compress them, but I don't know if theres an auto compression setting that I'm not aware of

Which Canon Camera? For example, the EOS 5D can be set to create a mRAW or sRAW, and these probably cannot run through AI Denoise. These are not "compressed", these have a lot fewer pixels and I think the AI Denoise needs the original camera sensor output, which is the RAW images. What is the size in pixels width and height (do not tell me megabytes) of one of these RAWs that can't work in Denoise ? 

But as I said, "In general, if the AI Denoise won't work on your files, there is no way to convert the files so that it will work."
